“Mom, leave us be. Don’t you know we need more sleep than you hoomans?!”
Most cats, if given the opportunity, will curl up and nap pretty much the entirety of the day! This is true for lions and tigers, all the way down to your domestic kitty at home! Because of their hunting habits in the wild, cats spend most of their day in a half-ish sleep, where they are on alert for prey but also contently napping so that they have energy to pounce when necessary. Although, let’s be honest, Captain spends a lot of his time happily snoring!
[You will want to turn your volume up for this]
Be sure if your kitty is home alone most of the day (and probably napping) to give some extra attention in the evenings when you arrive home for the day! Although they may appear to be too lazy and unenthusiastic at times, kitties need enrichment and exercise daily!
Wouldn’t it be oh-so-nice to be a cat for a day? Lounging and snoozing in all those random, comfy spots?
I hope you find some time to relax and snuggle up with a cat this week and maybe even take a quick cat-nap!
Thanks for stopping by!
If I slept as much as my cat I would have more energy-HAHA. Always blamed all her sleeping on her heart murmur.

I know what you mean! However, I also think if I slept that much, I would always be tired because my body would always be ready to go back to sleep. Haha!
I did not know a heart murmur affected how much they sleep. Does it also affect other parts of her daily living?

I don’t know if it does or not but always blamed it on that.
